"Deep techno/minimal house" is how they're billing it on the hype sheet, and that certainly works for the originals of both Bad Neighbour and Leave Me Alone – two tracks for those who like it sparse, bleepy and a little bit off-kilter.
When it comes to the remixes, though, it's a different story. Both DJ Saint Louis (in the case of Leave Me Alone) and Deadb8 (Bad Neighbour) tone down the ketamine wonk and smooth over the rough edges, such that Leave Me Alone ends up as a muscular, throbbing slab of club techno while Bad Neighbour, with its extended breakdowns and long builds, moves towards progressive house territory.
Overall then, this is very solid stuff, with mixes to suit a range of floors.
