An EP of very contemporary-sounding house grooves here courtesy of Danish label Gartenhaus.
Knuckle Walkers are a Copenhagen-based duo, comprised of Soeren Reith-Hauberg and Jens Lindahl., and they serve up three original tracks here. Food Chain is a midtempo, lolloping kind of affair that uses some familar gypsy/Balkan sounds in a pleasingly less familiar way, the accordions stretched out till they sound like something from an Ennio Morricone western theme. Massive is a glitchier, techier cut with a warping bassline from the dubstep/bass music school of thought, while Frontiers is a more atmospheric, meandering number. Rounding out the EP is a Strung Fellows Remix of the latter, which adds some acid-ish bass throb.
If you like your house a little more leftfield and forward-leaning, this is one to check for sure.
