Groove Bugs – Woman Cheeta

Groove Bugs Woman Cheeta Bid Muzik
A pleasant surprise from Chicago's Bid Muzik here! See, I've nothing against the label's trademark balls-out, hi-octane disco-house… it might not be the most cerebral of genres but there's a place for tuneage like that on Saturday night dancefloors for sure. But I don't often really have a lot to say about it, which is why Bid Muzik releases frequently crop up in the So many tunes… round-ups on TIWWD but don't often get a full review.

This is a different story, though. Think big room house with electro edges, but done from a proper house perspective as opposed to a 'making idiots jump up and down' perspective, topped off with a bad-gyal ragga vocal and some female scat vox thrown in for good measure.

There's just the one mix and, as I've already said, it's not what we've come to expect from Bid Muzik at all. But, reminiscent as it is of early Basement Jaxx or some of Morales's old Bad Yard mixes, it could certainly be one to reach for when more energy is required.
