The first release from a brand new label here, Channelled Recordings. They're based in Manchester and say their mission is to provide the world with some "top notch deep, progressive and tech house".
So it should be no surprise that the overall vibe on this three-track EP is, well, deep, proggy and techy! More specifically, Disco Depp is dark, techy prog, My Heart Can't Breathe is deep, dark and techy while It's Been Done itself is deep, dark and techy but with proggy overtones. Or, alternatively, we could just ditch the pigeonholes and the bullshit, and just say all three tracks are quality tougher house music made for dark rooms and small hours, with a tendency to no-nonsense driving beats and spoken vocal samples.
Yeah, let's do that.
Out: This week
About: You can find Channelled Recordings on Facebook and Soundcloud. Mark Holmes, incidentally, TIWWD readers may be familiar with thanks to previous releases on Manchester Underground Music, and he's also had bits out on Sci+Tec, Azuli and Sex On Wax
