Martin Virgin – Down/His Name Is Jack

And from Hype Muzik to vaguely related label Unrivaled Music. This week, the Essex crew serve up a two-tracker from one Martin Virgin, about whom I can't tell you, well, anything really.

I can tell you, though, that Down is a slow, chuggy deep houser with Italo/electro overtones (lots of squelchy analogue synths, basically) that's probably best suited to warm-up play or afterhours sessions, while His Name Is Jack isn't the retro acid-fest you might expect, but rather a laidback and soulful beach house-style groove, with some cool disco strings.

It's the latter that edges it for me but yeah, another solid bet.
