Peter Presta – Whipped (All Night)

Another one I'd have expected not to be particularly enamoured of, but for different reasons than the Nokken release below. See, Peter Presta's brand of hi-octane, stompy house has always been a bit too cheesy-shirts-off-in-a-gay-club for my liking, generally… but here he tones down the worst of the gorgonzola excesses and comes up with something altogether more likeable.

Don't get me wrong, this disco-tinged stomper is still one for the more mainstream floors rather than the ultra-cool underground joints, but as 'accessible' tackle goes it's a lot less off-puttingly cheesy than much similar material, and it's probably the best thing I've heard with Mr Presta's name on it to date.

For that reason alone, it deserves a mention today.

Out: This week

About: As ever, this is on Presta's own Applejaxx label (the link takes you to the Facebook page and you can find 'em on Soundcloud as well)

  1. Wow! Peter Presta has a style and groove that sets him apart from other DJ'S & So-called producers, don't hate the player, hate the game. Presta's music has made many assess shake til the break of dawn and he does a pretty good job at what he does. Just remember that everyone has an opinion as well as an asshole. Happy music hunting mate!!!

  2. Never hated anyone for the music they make dude, that'd be stupid. Just saying that not having been into Peter Presta's stuff personally before, I was pleasantly surprised by this. Far from being a diss, it was meant by way of showing some love for an artist who hasn't featured on here before... and by way of highlighting the fact that you should always listen with open ears!

If anyone's been offended by what was meant as a frank but positive posting, well, what was never the intention.

  3. *THAT was never the intention, not what.

And while I'm correcting, that should also have said 'never having been THAT into Peter Presta's stuff before' - I'm not saying I've ever thought it was worthless crap or anything, just not (usually, and prior to this) my personal cup of tea. But like you say, opinions/arseholes... :-)
