Label co-owner Tomson is at the controls, serving up four tracks. 90fo is a dreamy, trippy electronic groove with warping, chorused synths complimented by a tinky-tonk Italo/Balearic-style top line. Lose This is a deeper, bassier groove with a little subdued acid thrown in, perfect for afterhours floors, while Next To Her owes not a little to the very sparsest of deep Jersey garage. Completing the EP is a Medlar remix of Time For Change from we_ctrl001, which puts snatches of civil rights-era spoken vocal over layered, evolving synths and warm, housey-housey piano chords.
Forward-thinking stuff for the more cerebrally-inclined househead, with the last two tracks in particular standing out for me.
